What is a MOTR File Type?
Apple Motion creates generators, effects, transitions and titles for video projects. Often used with a video editor to create an effect, title, transition, which is then exported from Motion and imported into the video editor. It is most commonly used with Final Cut Pro.
Apple uses several extensions to save different types of projects. The titles created in Motion are saved as .MOTI files, the effects as .MOEF files and generators as .MOTN files.
MOTR files are saved in the following folder in MacOS by default.
Users / User / Film / Motion Models / Transitions / Transitions.
The MOTR files are usually located in the Transitions folder accompanied by apos; a multimedia folder that stores all media associated with the transition project. The MOTR files are also often accompanied by a .PNG thumbnail to view the transition in the Final Cut Pro and d'browser; a .MOV preview of the MOTR transition when' selected in Motion "Project Browser ."
