What is a HFP File Type?

Both versions of the HitFilm software can be used to create and open HFP files. Amateur video editors typically use the free version of HitFilm Express, while more professional video editors use the commercial version of HitFilm Pro, which offers more d&apos, edition and d' visual effects.

To create a new project in HitFilm, select File → New.... After modifying the project, the user can save the information in an HFP file by selecting File → Save or save as a project, the user can close it and reopen it later for later revision.

Users can also export registered HitFilm projects in HFP files to different formats, including .MP4, .MOV, and .AVI video, as well as a d'sequence; .PNG images. To export a project in a different format select File → Export the content or export in-Zone.

Although an HFP project file should only be opened; with the programs d' video edition HitFilm it can also be opened with an XML editor to view the parameters in XML format. The HFP file, however, should not be modified with an XML editor, as the changes will most likely result in corruption of the file.
