What is a SB3 File Type?
The SB3 files are saved in Scratch 3.0 file format. The SB2 files are saved in Scratch 2.0 file format and the .SB files saved in Scratch file format. The SB3 is simply a .ZIP archive that stores content such as sprites, scripts, costumes and audio files.

While the SB3 files are usually open and created in the MIT Scratch Online Editor, an offline editor for Windows and MacOS is also available.
Since the SB3 files are compressed with Zip compression you can extract the contents using Zip utilities such as Corel WinZip, 7-Zip, or Apple Archive Utility. Change the file extension .sb3 to .zip and unzip the file with the Zip utility.
