What is a XMIND File Type?
Before the XMIND files, XMind created XMAP files to save files. XMind, however, replaced XMAP files with XMIND files, which are saved in XMind Workbook format and supported by iMindQ applications from XMind and Seavus.
Since the XMIND files are compressed with Zip compression, they can be decompressed with the help of a Zip decompression program, such as Corel WinZip, 7-Zip, WinRAR or Apple Archive Utility. Just rename the .xmind extension to .zip and decompress it. You can manually extract the contents of the XMIND file, which usually consists of several .XML files and miniature .JPG files. Once you have finished viewing or modifying the content, you can compress l' archive with Zip using a Zip utility, then rename l' extension .zip to .xmind.
