What is a XLSM File Type?
XLSM files are XLSX files, but with macros enabled. A macro is a useful function that functions as a script, allowing users to automate repetitive tasks. It comes with hundreds of macros, but you can also save your own macros, which consist of buttons and mouse clicks that perform a specific action, and modify them to make minor changes. Some examples of macro functions include formatting data in a selected column from a spreadsheet or spreadsheet; application d' mathematical equations specific to the data.
XLSM files can be opened with Excel 2007 or later, or with previous versions of Excel with support for Open XML components. Excel n'for security reasons; do not enable macros by default. Excel n'will not execute macros in XLSX files, even if they contain macro code. They must first be saved as XLSM files.
You can open XLSM files with d' spreadsheet applications such as Corel Quattro Pro and MobiSystems OfficeSuite Pro. Google Sheets (available in Google Drive) supports XLSM files also thanks to its Office compatibility mode.
