What is a XDF File Type?
The XDF is the native file format used by Machine Learning Server to store collected data. Since automatic learning can be implemented by various organizations, XDF files can store different types of data depending on the context in which they are used. An airline, for example, can use Machine Learning Server to record and analyze performance data. The XDF file could include time of departure, time of arrival, flight number, location, airport of origin, airport of destination, distance of flight and date of each flight.
Often XDF files store large amounts of data stored in a single file. As data sets grow, however, XDF files can be divided into compressed files to save space. Each block of stored data in an XDF file can be compressed to a custom level.
While most XDF files are created by the Machine Learning Server software, files can also be created by d' other programs, such as XDF Output Tool.
