What is a TAX2018 File Type?
With TurboTax, you can import data from your previous tax return into a new document called T2018 TAX. You can select using a tax return that is on my computer when prompted at the beginning of the tax return process. If you want to import data from a 2017 TurboTax report, select the file with l' extension .TAX2017. You can import data from the 2017 TaxACT and H & R Block .PDF tax files.
You will only see a TAX2018 file if you use the desktop version of TurboTax, which is available for Windows and MacOS. The TAX2018 file can also be exported from TurboTax Online. To export a TAX2018 file from TurboTax Online, click on Tax Tools; rarr; Tools select "Save your 2018 report on your computer, ", which starts downloading the TAX2018 file.tax2018. You can open the TAX2018 file in the office version of TurboTax.
Once you have completed your return in TurboTax, you can mail and print the tax forms or send the 2018 return electronically. There is no charge for filing federal returns, but there is usually a fee for electronic filing through the state.
Most of the T2018 TAX files are created in 2019 since the annual income tax returns are filed for the previous year.
