What is a R3PROJ File Type?
In 2003, RPG Maker was released as the third installment of the RPG Maker series. It was re-released on Steam in 2015 with an official English translation of the game.
The main file type associated with the 2003 RPG Maker is the R3PROJ file. When users start developing a game in the program they create and save their projects in the default R3PROJ files. You should only open files with RPG Maker 2003. Once users have finished developing their game they can compile the project as an .EXE file and distribute it with its resources so that d' other users can play.
RPG Maker replaced RPG Maker 2000 and was replaced by RPG Maker XP in 2005. Other versions include RPG Maker VX Ace (released in 2011), which records projects as .RVPROJ2 files, and RPG Maker MV (released in 2015), which records projects as .RPGPROJECT files.
RPG Maker 2003 is developed by Kadokawa Games.
It was originally published by Enterbrain, but is published on Steam by Degica Games.
