What is a POLICY File Type?
The Java Virtual Machine allows a d'computer to run a Java program. JRE consists of a JVM implementation and a Java Class Library implementation. JRE is a super-set and also comes with Java programming tools. JRE and JDK use POLICY files to determine the permissions of Java programs installed on the computer. It gives access to actions such as read/write permissions for files in a certain directory.
You can create and modify POLICY files with a text editor or policytool utility, which can be opened by typing policytool in the command line in the JDK. If a POLITICAL file is updated Java programs must be restarted before the updates can be applied. There are syntax errors in the POLITICAL file, Java programs will fail. Use of the policytool utility to help prevent syntax errors.
There are 2 default POLICY files, one is a POLITICAL file-of the system and l' another is a POLITICAL file. The location of default system-wide POLICY files:
Windows java.home\ lib\ security\ security\.
MacOS / Linux: java.home / lib / security / security.
