What is a OFFICEUI File Type?
When you make changes to the Microsoft Word tape, it does not change the tapes in other Microsoft Office Suite applications. Change each individual program in order to make changes. The OFFICEUI files are named according to the program in which they are modified, e.g. the Microsoft Word OFFICEUI file is named Word.officeui.
To make changes, select File → Options → Customize the tape and make your changes. You can modify the XML code directly in the OFFICEUI file.
To share the OFFICEUI file, you export the file, which creates the .EXPORTEDUI file. Select File → Options → Customize the tape, make changes, select Export/Import, choose Export all customizations, name the file, choose a backup location, and click Save.
To import the EXPORTEDUI file (in the same window as described above, click the Import / Export button, choose Import the custom file, select the file, and click Open.
The OFFICEUI file was introduced with Microsoft Office 2010 but is compatible with later versions of the Office.
