What is a MUP File Type?
MUP is used to store and distribute digital musical compositions. It is saved in text format using a proprietary syntax that represents the musical score. If the composer chooses to modify the music, the files can also be reviewed and refined. Once the composer has written the score, the MUP file can be printed on paper.
The ability to translate existing partitions is another feature of the Music Publisher software. They can scan the printed music into an MUP file, transpose the music, and then reprint it.
In January 2014, Lauriso Software replaced Braeburn Software as the developer of Music Publisher. The development of Music Publisher, however, was interrupted when Lauriso Software closed its doors.
