What is a MSIX File Type?
MSIX is designed to be a universal package format allowing developers to distribute their programs to users via the intermediary of Microsoft Store. It was introduced with the release of Windows 10 version 1809 in 2018. It supports classic Win32 applications and is designed to replace AppX, MSI and d' other formats; Windows installers. MSIX offers enhanced security, updates, simplified applications via Windows, and uninstall of cleaner applications.

To open an MSIX file and start the installation of the' application packaged in Windows 10, simply double-click on the file. To extract the contents, change the file extension from .m6 to .zip, and extract the files using the file decompression program.
