What is a LINQ File Type?
Developers using LINQPad to test their code are probably the only type of user that encounters LINQ files. When a LINQ request or other code is saved by a developer by selecting File → Save or Save as, LINQPad creates the LINQ file to store the content. After testing the code in LINQPad, a developer can copy and paste the code into Visual Studio.
The LINQ files are intended to be opened with LINQPad, which provides various test features for developers. To open a LINQ file with LINQPad select File & &&& rarr; Open.
Since LINQ files are saved in plain text they can be opened with n' whatever editor. Both Microsoft Notepad, which comes with Windows, and Apple TextEdit, which comes with MacOS, can open LINQ files. They do not, however, offer the same functionality as LINQPad.
