What is a GSLIDES File Type?
Google Drive is a service based on-cloud that provides file storage and several productivity applications, including Docs, Sheets and Slides programs. Google Slide interface looks like Microsoft PowerPoint with a toolbar that allows you to insert text, images, shapes, tables, graphics, animations, images and icons; Word art. You can also change the layout, the theme and the transitions in the presentation.
Drive productivity applications could be downloaded and installed in Windows or MacOS before 2018. The GSLIDES were available in a special folder called Google Drive on the local hard drive. This folder was used to synchronize files with Google Drive.
Users could double-click on a GSLIDES file to open the presentation in the Player Slides application in their web browser by default. This is similar to clicking on a shortcut .LNK file in Windows or a .WEBSITE or .WEBLOC file to open a web page in Internet Explorer or Chrome.
Google Drive desktop applications were shut down in 2018 and GSLIDES files are no longer used by Google Drive to store links to presentations in slides. Users can create presentations in online slides in Google Drive at any time.
