What is a GDCB File Type?
The GandCrab virus is ransomware, which takes your computer files hostage and forces you to pay the apos; author (usually via the DASH currency) to unlock your files. The GentCrab V4 virus scrambles, renames and encrypts files of the user.
It generates a .TXT ransom note (GDCB-DECRYPT.txt) informing you about the encryption of the file and what you need to do to recover your files.
The Bitdefender GandCrab Decrypt Tool can be used to decrypt GDCB files and is available free of charge. If you save your files, you can also perform a full system recovery. Otherwise the only known way to decrypt your infected files is to pay the author for the private key and decrypt the program.
What is a Default GDCB File Name?
Fileename.ext.GDCB - GDCB extension is added in encrypted files at the end of the file. Sample.xlsx becomes sample.xlsx.GDCB.
