What is a GD File Type?
The Godot Engine is a free game engine used to create 2D and 3D games for Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android, iOS and the web. GDScript was created by the Godot community to provide customized built-in functionality as d' other programming languages such as Lua, Python, and Squirrel did not provide - @ - @ the box.
GD files can be run in Godot Engine or edited with l'scripting provided with Godot Engine. The script editor includes useful editing functions, such as l' finishing the code and highlighting the syntax. They can also edit GD files with plain text editors such as Microsoft Notepad and Apple TextEdit, but they do not provide the same scripting functionality as Godot Engine.
GDScript was introduced with 3.1 and later versions of Godot Engine.
