What is a FSA File Type?
The FSA files are created to store data on fragments acquired by data-collecting software during electrophoresis (a laboratory technique used to separate and analyze macromolecules according to their size) and are used to determine the size of the fragments. The data are used to determine genotypes of DNA sequences. If you are working or studying in a science related to DNA @ - @, you will probably never find an FSA file.
If you find an FSA file and you have to open it, you can choose from several programs; analysis of fragments, such as Peak Scanner Software. They can be used to enlarge, view, edit and print FSA files. The applications process the raw data from the FSA file at the help of algorithms and display the data according to the parameters defined by the user. If you want to convert the FSA file to a more common image format, you can use the FSA2PS program to convert the data to PostScript images.
It is very likely that the FSA files collected by Applied Biosystems applications will be placed in the following directory.
E:\ AppliedBiosystems\ UDC\ Data collection\ D'type; device and # 93;\ [device name; device and # 93;\\.
