What is a CERBER2 File Type?
The CERBER2 files are similar to .CERBER files but created by the Cerber2 virus. Cerber2 is a variant of the first version of the virus Cerber and encrypts differently from the virus Cerber to qu' it is difficult for users to decrypt infected files. The CERBER2 files became dominant in 2016 and are similar to the .LOCKY and .ZZZZZ files created by Locky ransomware.
Cerber2 is a dangerous malware, often called ransom, that takes your files hostage and forces you to pay bitcoins to l' author in order to decrypt your files. It is usually spread through e-mail messages containing infected attachments or malicious links. Once it affects your computer, it starts to scramble your files, rename them with random characters and encrypt them as CERBER2 files.
When encrypting your files, it creates .TXT, .HTML and .VBS files that contain instructions for paying criminals. These are placed in each folder that contains CERBER2 files.
If you save your files you can perform a complete restoration of the system. Otherwise the only known way to decrypt your infected files is to pay the author for the private key and decrypt the program.
