What is a ADOBE File Type?
Dharma ransomware renames standard .MP4, .DOCX, and .PDF files with a ".ADOBE" extension. The files are encrypted with the help of AES and RSA spreadsheets, so that it is not possible to open files simply by changing the file; extension of the file.
The purpose of the ransom is to hijack your files and force you to pay, often by bitcoin, the guilty party to unlock your files. It can be inserted into your computer using an executable file disguised as another type of file. It can act as an attachment to an e-mail, e-mail, a file downloaded from e-mail, a website or e-mail; a file included in a program; installation.
Once started, the executable file starts to scramble your files, rename them with the' .adobe extension, and encrypt them. The virus generates a ransom note .TXT (FILES ENCRYPTED.txt or _ openme.txt) informing you about the takeover and what you need to do to get your files back.
It will rename your files using the following naming convention.
File name, # 93; .id- & # 91; ID & # 93; # 91; e @-@[email protected] & # 93; .adobe.
For example, if you have a sample.pdf file it can become sample.pdf.id-HDNFH438. [stopencrypt @pt qq.com] .adobe.
The ADOBE files became common in late 2018 and early 2019 and are similar to .LOCKY and .WALLET files. There are currently no programs available to efficiently restore your files. If you have a backup of your files, you can perform a system restore.
