What is a BA6 File Type?
TaxAct 2016 users will probably use the TA6 file only to save, print or download their taxes. The BA6 file, however, is useful for users who fear that their TA6 file may be corrupted or lost.
To save a copy of your tax return select File → Save... and name your file. Save your tax return to a TA6 file before creating your backup.
To restore a backup in TaxAct select File → Restore Backup... and browse to the location of your BA6 file.
Since the annual tax returns are filed for the previous year, the BA6 file is most likely created in 2017 from early January to April 15. Once you have completed your tax return, you can print and send it by mail or send it electronically.
