What is a PSDC File Type?
The PSDC was introduced in November 2019 with the release of Photoshop for iPad and Photoshop CC 2020 for Windows and MacOS. The goal is to allow users to work on the same PSD document on their computer or iPad and have their changes synchronized so that the document is always on the-to- date.
The PSDC file format is the same as the PSD file format, which includes image layer support, layer adjustment, layer masks, annotations and other specific elements of Photoshop. The PSDC format, however, also allows you to cache changes to a document when a user is working offline. Then, when the user connects to the Internet again, the changes are synchronized.
To create a PSDC file in Adobe Photoshop select File → Save or save as.... If prompted to save the document to your computer, click the Save Document Cloud button, name the PSDC file, and then click Save. If you are prompted to save the document in your Cloud space just name the PSDC file and click Save.
To open a PDF file in Adobe Photoshop that has been saved in your Adobe Cloud account select "Cloud documents" on the left side of the page; Home screen from Photoshop. Select the PSDC file to open and edit the document in Photoshop.
Incremental backup and recovery is supported in the PSDC file format. To view the history of your cloud documents, connect-you to Adobe Assets Web with your Adobe account, and select Files → Cloud Documents, choose a PSDC file, and click Chronology to view all saved versions of the document.
